Tenants Association urges Podgorica authorities to announce subsidy competition amid delays
, NewsThe Tenants Association of Montenegro has submitted an official request to the Secretariat for Social Welfare of the Capital City regarding the delay in the competition for the distribution of subsidies for tenants in Podgorica.
The Association stated that the competition for the allocation of subsidies for tenants in Podgorica has not yet been announced, despite the fact that in previous years, the process had already been initiated by this time.
“We receive a large number of inquiries daily from tenants who wish to apply, but we still have no official information about when the competition will open,” the statement reads.
The Association has formally requested the Secretariat for Social Welfare of the Capital City to provide accurate information regarding the date of the competition and the application procedures.
“We believe that it is necessary for the competent authorities to inform citizens transparently and promptly, so that all interested tenants can prepare and secure their right to subsidies,” said the Association.
They also submitted a request to have their representatives included in the commission that will decide on the distribution of funds.
The Association reminded that the budget of the Capital City was adopted contrary to the proposed amendment for increasing the subsidy fund, with only 150,000 EUR allocated for this year. This amount means that only 125 tenant families will receive assistance.
“This is insufficient, given that more than 15,000 tenant households currently live in Podgorica,” the Association warned.
They urged the city authorities to announce the competition as soon as possible and ensure transparent distribution of funds, considering increasing the budget to support more families.
The Tenants Association of Montenegro, as announced by its representatives, will continue to fight for the rights of all tenants and demand responsible action from institutions regarding this pressing issue.
“We call on all tenants who meet the requirements to apply as soon as the competition is announced, and we will continue to monitor the situation and fight for an increase in the fund,” the statement concludes.
