Sunrise Europe gets approval for 225 MW solar power plant in Šanik

Sunrise Europe, a company based in Kotor, has received approval to construct a 225 MW solar power plant at the Dubrovsko and Duži sites in Šanik.

Earlier, the company was granted urban and technical conditions for this project. Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency also approved the Environmental Impact Assessment Report.

The solar power plant will be built on several parcels totaling approximately 275 hectares, with around 104 hectares dedicated to solar panels. The layout will ensure sufficient spacing between rows to avoid mutual shading. All the land is owned by the investor.

The plant will generate electricity by converting solar radiation into electrical energy, which will then be distributed to consumers through the grid.

The document specifies that the primary technology for power generation will be monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules, Risen RSM132-8-670M, with an output of 670 Wp and an energy conversion efficiency of 21.6%.

The photovoltaic modules will be arranged in strings to match the input voltage of the DC/AC inverters. The panels will be grouped and connected to the inverters via DC cables.

The SE Dubrovsko solar plant will require 529 inverters connected to 88 internal low/medium voltage transformer stations. The inverters will be linked to the transformers with cables buried underground.

The estimated energy production for the first year of operation is 293,597 MWh at the inverter level, with a net production of 284,154 MWh. Analyses have determined that the maximum capacity of the future solar plant is approximately 225 MW DC.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s decision confirms that the Environmental Impact Assessment Report complies with the Environmental Impact Assessment Law and includes measures to mitigate environmental impacts.

The decision mandates that the investor adhere to the environmental protection measures outlined in the report, including those for minimizing impacts during construction, operation, and in case of accidents, along with a monitoring program to assess the project’s environmental effects.
