Rudine Energy Park solar power plant project moves forward in Nikšić

After receiving urban planning and technical conditions for the construction of the Rudine Energy Park solar power plant in Nikšić last September, the company of the same name from Podgorica has submitted a request to the Agency for Environmental Protection for a decision on the necessity of developing an Environmental Impact Assessment.

The solar power plant will be built on approximately 130 hectares in the Rudine neighborhood of Nikšić, with a nominal capacity of 140.3 MWac and a peak capacity of 186.1 MWdc.

In July, former Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property, Janko Odović, met with representatives of the Swiss company Swiss Green Energy Holding, which is behind this investment. They confirmed that the project had received urban planning conditions and that efforts were underway to secure a grid connection, enabling construction to commence as soon as possible.

The company stated that the project aims to build a solar power plant that will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote a more environmentally friendly future. Additionally, they mentioned that the Rudine Energy Park project is secured by a long-term lease agreement with all landowners for a period of 35 years.
