Nearly 2.86 million vehicles pass through Princeza Ksenija highway in 2024
, NewsSince the beginning of the year, nearly 2.86 million vehicles have passed through the Princeza Ksenija highway, according to data from the Monteput website.
In 2023, the highway saw 2.29 million vehicles, and in 2022, the total was 1.14 million vehicles, following its opening in mid-July.
The priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and became operational the following day. The toll was free for the first seven days, after which it was set at 1.5 EUR for motorcycles, 3.5 EUR for passenger vehicles, and 17 EUR for trucks and buses.
The total length of the first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers, featuring 20 bridges on the main route, nine bridges on ramp interchanges, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin tunnels.
The section includes four interchanges with toll booths, linking the highway to existing roads at Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.
The maximum speed limit on the highway is 100 kilometers per hour.
