Montenegro, New gems of coast are being revealed thanks to the Bigova Bay project
, NewsThe contract for the construction of the primary infrastructure for the Bigova Bay project, which includes the construction of water supply, electricity and optics for Donji Grbalj, was signed today in Kotor. As reported by the CGNews Agency, the value of the project is EUR 6.2 million, and the deadline for the completion of the works is 13 months. The President of Kotor Municipality, Vladimir Jokić, said that by signing the contract for the construction of the primary infrastructure for the Bigova Bay project – the construction of the water supply system, 35kv cables and telecommunication systems in Kotor, the construction of the largest tourist investment in Montenegro, the Bigova Bay investment, begins at full capacity.
As he pointed out, it will be the first big project that will open up to now an unexplored and unused gem of the Montenegrin coast, part of the coast of the municipality of Kotor to the open sea. – Today’s signing of the contract for the performance of works on the water supply network, electricity and optical cable opens the possibility that the area of Donje Grblje will finally be supplied with water from the Regional Water Supply. The municipality of Kotor will work in parallel with its city water supply to connect all villages to the water supply network – Jokić pointed out.
He also said that he expects that during the next year, on behalf of the Municipality of Kotor, they will once again be able to address the public and say that they will begin the construction of the branch of the water supply that goes from Jaz to Zagora, Savina and the rest of Donji Grblje. – I hope that we will create the possibility that this important part of our municipality will be valorized in the right way in the future and that all residents in that part of our municipality will get water supply – emphasized Jokić.
The representative of the owner of the Bigova Bay project, Walid Al Najjab, thanked everyone who made great efforts to make this project come to life. – From the presentation of the President of the Municipality, I concluded that the bureaucratic problems are behind us, which creates a precondition for the development of infrastructure on the peninsula, not only for the BigovaBay project, but also for the wider community that will benefit from it, as well as possible future tourism projects in the area – he said. Bojana Ječmenica from BBI Development pointed out that this is the result of long-term work of investors and municipal and state authorities, because administrative and bureaucratic problems were being solved for a long time.
The contract for the finishing of these works is 13 months and I expect good cooperation with the local administration and I don’t think we will have any major problems because this infrastructure does not pass through private plots – said Ječmenica. The President of the Kotor Municipal Assembly, Maja Mršulja, pointed out that the signing of this contract is especially important for the citizens of Donje Grblje, who will receive regular water supply for the first time.
The citizens of the municipality of Kotor from this area have never had city water supply and in this way the territory of Donje Grblje, which is one of the jewels of our city, will finally gain importance – said Mršulja, local media writes.
