Montenegro March Inflation Rate Lowest in a Year
, NewsMontenegro’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 10.5% year-on-year in March, after rising by an annual 15.1% in February, the Podgorica-based Statistical Office of Montenegro (Monstat) said on Thursday.
Inflation was mostly fueled by an increase in the prices at restaurants and hotels, by 16.8%. Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 14.5%, and prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels went up by 14.2%.
In addition, prices of furniture and household equipment went up 13.2%, and prices for health services added 7.2%.
Also, prices of clothing and footwear increased, by 6.6%, while alcoholic beverages and tobacco appreciated 5.5% and recreation and culture activities were 4.8% more expensive.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices went down by 0.7% in March, after adding 0.5% in February.
