Montenegro, last year’s trade exchange far surpassed 2021’s
, NewsThe total foreign trade of Montenegro last year amounted to EUR 4.23 billion, according to the final results of Monstat. This indicates a growth of 43.9% compared to 2021.
Export of goods had a value of EUR 700.3 million and increased by 60.2%. The data also show that imported goods were worth EUR 3.53 billion, which is an increase of 41.1% compared to the previous year.
The coverage of imports by exports amounted to 19.8% and is higher compared to the same period of the previous year when it amounted to 17.4% – stated from Monstat.
In the structure of exports according to the standard international trade classification (SMTK), mineral fuels and lubricants are the most represented in the amount of EUR 209.9 million, which are electricity with EUR 170.2 million and others).
When it comes to imports, machines and transport devices were the most represented in the amount of EUR 709.9 million, and this segment consists of road vehicles with EUR 228.5 million, electrical machines, appliances and devices with EUR 142.3 million and others.
Montenegro exported goods to Serbia in the amount of EUR 149.4 million, so that country was also the largest foreign trade partner when it comes to exports. Switzerland follows with EUR 108 million, and Bosnia and Herzegovina EUR 90.6 million.
Serbia was also the biggest partner when it comes to imports, so goods worth 614.8 million EUR arrived in Montenegro from that country. In second place was China with 330.6 million, and in third place was Greece, from which we imported goods worth 289.1 million EUR.
Foreign trade was the largest with CEFTA signatories and with the European Union.
