Montenegro, increase in the number of tourists in April as an intro to the summer season
, NewsAccording to the data provided by local tourist organizations to the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro (NTOCG), on April 20, about 29,000 tourists stayed in Montenegro every Thursday, which is about 50% more than in 2019, a representative of the Media Bureau told the agency. As she stated, based on the mentioned data and announcements, Montenegro is facing a very successful tourist season.
What makes us especially happy at this moment is the good occupancy of hotel capacities during April, as well as good announcements for the month of May – she said and added that these are certainly good indicators and a successful pre-season.
According to her, NTOCG has made efforts to position Montenegro as a year-round destination, and international research such as the ITC research is encouraging in this regard, which shows that Europeans increasingly want to travel outside the main season.
Hoteliers are also of the opinion that Montenegro is facing a successful summer tourist season, pointed out Vujović, and said that the announcements are much better compared to the previous year, and that some hotels are already fully booked for the months of June, July and August.
The NTOCG representative said that currently the most numerous tourists in Montenegro are from the region, but that a large number of tourists from Turkey, Germany, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic have also been noticed.
When it comes to the continuation of the season, as far as the announcements are concerned, we expect a large number of tourists from Kazakhstan, the Baltic countries, Egypt and Scandinavia, these are all markets with which we have good air connections – she said.
