Montenegro has significant potential for the development of health tourism, and the government is working intensively on the harmonization and incorporation of the best parks, which will take their final form through legal solutions, is the common position of the meeting of the ministers of health and economic development and tourism, Dragoslav Šćekić and Goran Đurović, which held at the Ministry of Health.

As announced by the Ministry of Health, the meeting discussed specific activities that are within the competence of these departments, and they concern, among other things, the harmonization of the Law on Health Care with the Law on Tourism and Hospitality in the field of health tourism.

The participants of the meeting agreed that Montenegro has the potential to develop elite health tourism, and that the geographical location and suitable climate are an ideal climate for rehabilitation.

Šćekić and Đurović assessed that, after harmonizing legal norms, and following international standards, with adequate infrastructure, personnel and equipment, Montenegro, as an attractive tourist destination, has a good basis for the development of health tourism, which will ultimately significantly contribute to the economic prosperity of the country. .

– They emphasized that an adequate health service is an inseparable part of the tourist offer, and our country has great potential in certain areas of medicine, for which tourists visiting our country have a great interest. In addition, spas and natural spas, with which Montenegro is rich, represent one of the most important factors in the development of health tourism – the announcement states.

During the meeting, the representatives of the two ministries also discussed resolving the status of the Igalo Institute and strengthening the capacity of this rehabilitation center, which is also a significant and already recognized factor for the positioning of our country in the field of health tourism.
