Montenegro, drafting of new agricultural production strategy for the period from 2023 to 2028 is nearing completion
, NewsThe agricultural budget for 2023 will be increased by some 41 percent compared to the previous year, said Miroslav Cimbaljević from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in Colors of the Morning.
“In the previous period, we had a difficult period and the prices of all inputs of agricultural production rose significantly, and there was a need for the Agrobudget to be at a higher level than it is. But those were real possibilities with the national budget and we are in the final phase of preparation and already in the next ones in days we can expect opinions to be collected and referred to the Government,” said Cimbaljević.
He also said that the drafting of new agricultural production strategy for the period from 2023 to 2028 is nearing completion, and that some measures have been modified.
“The public debate regarding the strategy will take place this month. We have focused on certain branches that are recognized as having great potential in Montenegro. What interests the citizens the most is payment per hectare and head, and we have improved them,” he said. Cimbaljevic.
When it comes to the premium for milk, this year it will amount to 17 cents. In cattle breeding, he states, the premiums will be from zero head, in livestock production the criterion for sheep and goats has been reduced and will amount to one conditional head or 10 sheep or goats that will be included in the premium.
“We will continue with the purchase of pregnant heifers, the premium for rearing was 150 euros, now it will be 250 euros. Fattening premiums have been corrected in a positive direction, we have made a lot of progress in that area. Payments per hectare will be revised, this year we will have production-related payments The basic premium will amount to 250 euros, for special crops there will be additional incentives… Younger agricultural producers, farms run by women will have an additional premium, and producers who have proof that they put the goods on the market,” said Cimbaljević.
