Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić has urged the tourism sector and local tourist organizations to focus on diversifying their tourism products by creating additional offerings to engage visitors.

The Ministry of Tourism announced that the first meeting of the Coordination Body for Preparing and Monitoring Tourist Seasons, chaired by Kordić, was held recently. The meeting primarily assessed the outcomes of the summer season while also planning for the winter season, independent of weather conditions.

Kordić informed the members of the Coordination Body that the Ministry has already intensified efforts in this direction. She emphasized the importance of diversifying tourism products to prevent negative impacts and to keep visitors engaged.

Additionally, discussions are underway to explore options for partial snow-making as a temporary solution in the event of insufficient snowfall.

Kordić highlighted that the capital budget of Montenegro includes plans for the construction of two ski lifts at the state Ski Center Kolašin 1600, as well as a beginner ski area at the Savin Kuk ski resort in Durmitor.

A long-term challenge discussed was the operation of hotels, not only in the northern regions but throughout Montenegro. This will be a key topic in future meetings of the Coordination Body, aimed at finding appropriate solutions.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property, Slaven Radunović, state secretaries from the Ministry of Tourism, Vuk Žižić and Petar Drašković, as well as representatives from other relevant ministries, institutions, tourist organizations, and municipalities.
