Limited Prices initiative successfully stabilizes market and protects citizens’ standards
, NewsThe “Limited Prices” initiative has achieved excellent results and fulfilled its purpose of maintaining citizens’ standards of living and halting the rise in prices, as concluded during the meeting of the Coordination Body for Monitoring Prices and Stabilizing the Market.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the first constituent meeting of the Coordination Body for Monitoring and Analyzing the Price Movements of Products Essential for the Health and Well-being of Citizens was held today. The body is also tasked with market supply monitoring and proposing measures to address the consequences of price increases for these products.
The meeting, chaired by Vice Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development, Nik Gjeloshaj, discussed and adopted the working rules for the Coordination Body.
The current market situation and the effects of the “Limited Margins” initiative were analyzed during the meeting.
“Although the government has previously taken a series of measures to limit the retail and wholesale margins, certain challenges in this area have emerged, including boycotts of retail chains. This requires continuous monitoring and analysis. The meeting placed special emphasis on discussing proposals for further actions aimed at stabilizing prices of essential products,” the statement reads.
Conditions were also created to establish a dialogue with all relevant stakeholders to assess the overall market situation and propose measures to protect consumers and maintain economic stability.
“It was concluded that the ‘Limited Prices’ initiative has yielded excellent results, successfully achieving its goal of preserving citizens’ standards and halting the rise in prices,” the statement concludes.
