First Montenegrin ten-giga optical network ready to offer access to its users
, NewsPodgorica – The company Telemach is ready to offer its users access to the first Montenegrin ten-giga optical network.
In the Telemach show room today, a ten gig optical network was officially tested, and Montenegrin journalists were the first to see the quality of service and performance. It is about switching from GPON technology to XGS-PON, which, instead of the current 2.5 Gbps, provides speeds of up to ten Gbps.
The provision of a ten-giga optical network is part of the strategic partnership between United Group and the companies Nokia and Huawei.
Director of the technical sector, Ilija Vukmirović, said that Telemach continues to bring the future into the homes of its users.
“They are used to having the most innovative service and the best user experience at all times, and our task is to constantly work on improvement.” In the last five years, we have invested around EUR 16.5 million in the total infrastructure, and we recently received confirmation that our investments really change the quality of life, because the world leader in testing, data collection and analysis of fixed and mobile networks, Ookla, determined that Telemach it has the fastest internet in Montenegro,” said Vukmirović.
He said that they should continue in the same direction, which always involves carefully listening to the needs of the market and introducing new technologies.
Vukmirović announced that the essence of their services is to be fast, stable and provide satisfaction in all activities at home, at work or anywhere else.
“That’s why we like to explain the superiority of the fastest network in the country with a very simple example – through a ten gig optical network, our users will be able to download a movie in 4K resolution, which usually weighs around 20 GB, in less than 30 seconds.” This is what the digital future looks like, which will continue to develop further in the years ahead,” Vukmirović explained.
He added that eight thousand households are currently able to access the 10 gig fiber optic network, while future fiber optic users will receive the service of this latest generation technology, local media says.
