Banks’ liquid assets in January were EUR 1.89 billion
, NewsBanks’ liquid assets in January amounted to EUR 1.89 billion, which is 5.13% less than in December.
Data from the Central Bank show that the liquid assets of banks in January compared to the same month last year were 31.53% higher.
Liquidity coefficients for the banking system as a whole were above the prescribed minimums, on a daily and decadal level.
The total assets of banks at the end of January amounted to EUR 6.4 billion and recorded a decrease of 0.05% compared to December, while at the annual level it strengthened by 19.38%. In the structure of banks’ assets, in January total loans had a dominant share of 58.11%, followed by cash and deposit accounts with central banks with 25.73%, securities with 15.29%, while 0.87 % related to the remaining assets.
In the structure of liabilities, the dominant share of 81.27% was achieved by deposits, followed by capital with 10.87%, loans with 4.83%, while other items accounted for 3.03% of total liabilities.
The total capital of banks at the end of January was EUR 695.95 million, and on a monthly and annual basis, it recorded a growth of 14.24% and 2.66%, respectively.
