Bank liquid assets and capital growth report for October 2024
, NewsAt the end of October, the liquid assets of banks amounted to 1.5 billion EUR, which is 1.88% lower than in September.
Compared to the same month last year, the liquid assets were 13.11% lower.
The liquidity ratios for the banking system, on both daily and ten-day levels, were above the prescribed minimums.
At the end of October, the balance sheet total of banks amounted to 7 billion EUR, reflecting an increase of 0.32% compared to September, while on an annual basis, it grew by 3.15%.
In the structure of bank assets, at the end of October, net loans had the largest share, accounting for 64.89%, followed by securities with 18.55%, and cash and deposits with central banks making up 13.48%. The remaining 3.08% was attributed to other asset items.
In the structure of liabilities, deposits held the dominant share of 81.18%, followed by equity with 12.89%, borrowings with 2.76%, and other items accounting for 3.17% of the total liabilities.
The total capital of banks at the end of October amounted to 902.31 million EUR, showing a monthly increase of 1.65% and an annual rise of 12.69%.
