Almost ten thousand work permits for foreigners
, NewsIn the first four months of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) issued 9.73 thousand temporary residence and work permits for foreigners, the Employment Agency announced. The majority of foreigners are employed in construction, accommodation, catering and other service activities.
“Of the total number of permits issued for foreigners in the quota (6.07 thousand), viewed according to the types of permits, 98.32 percent were issued for employment of foreigners, and 1.68 percent for seasonal employment of foreigners. In the spent quotas for the employment of foreigners in the period from January 1 to April 3, construction, accommodation and food services and other service activities have the majority of participation, of 55.14 percent”.
Most permits for temporary residence and work of foreigners were issued to citizens of Russia 3.75 thousand, Turkey 2.21 thousand, Serbia 1.19 thousand, Bosnia and Herzegovina 499 and Albania 478, which makes 83.57 percent of the total number of issued work permits.
This year, employers reported 10.14 thousand job vacancies to the Employment Agency. Most of the places are for high school students, 47.87 percent, university students 28.7 percent and unskilled and semi-skilled workers 23.43 percent.
Observed according to the activities of the employers, the most vacancies are advertised for the activities of accommodation and food services, education, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and construction.
“There were 1.53 thousand vacancies registered for indefinite working hours, 5.78 thousand permanent jobs, 2.5 thousand seasonal jobs and 324 other types (trainee, volunteer trainee, temporary and casual jobs),”.
The most vacancies were reported in Podgorica, 2.4 thousand, Budva 1.46 thousand, Herceg Novi 1.05 thousand, Kotor 911, Nikšić 891, Bar 778, Ulcinj 440 and Tivat 420.
